Berry Nice: Cooking with Frozen Blueberries

The newest brochure from the Community Food Basket is all about--you guessed it--frozen blueberries! These beautiful, refreshing berries are versatile, delicious and even nutritious!

Below you'll see a great infographic from blueberrycouncil.org all about what these frozen berries have to offer.

Research into the health benefits of blueberries is ongoing, but we do know that they are a good source of Vitamin C and are high in manganese. Vitamin C is necessary for growth and development of tissues and promotes wound healing. Manganese helps the body process cholesterol and nutrients such as carbohydrates and protein. Blueberries are also a good source of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber may reduce the risk of heart disease and adds bulk to your diet, which may help you feel full faster.

Finally, happy cooking! Be sure to let us know if you use any of the recipes or tips included below.
