Ways to Give

hungerHEROO.jpg

Whether you are able to donate food, contribute financially, or volunteer your time, we at the Community Food Basket greatly appreciates your generosity!

Donate Food

Community Food Basket accepts donations of unexpired canned or dry goods, frozen food, and fresh produce. Drop-offs can be made Monday, Tuesday or Friday between 9 AM and noon and Wednesday or Thursday from 10 AM-6 PM. If you have a larger amount and would like to arrange a pick up you can contact us at 815-431-0155 or info@ottawafoodbasket.org.

Plant A Row For the Hungry

Plant a Row is a national initiative that encourages gardeners to donate fresh produce to food pantries in their local communities.  Community Food Basket has received food from local gardeners through this program for 15 years and in 2016 11,867 lbs of produce was donated and distributed to our community!

If you garden, please consider "planting a row" for us!

Monetary Donations

While we welcome and appreciate ALL donations, monetary gifts provide us with the most flexibility.  We are able to purchase  those items that we need, when they are needed. It gives us  the ability to augment our fresh produce and perishable products when required; and when we buy through River Bend Foodbank the money goes a great deal further than at the retail grocery store.  A recent delivery included 7,002 lbs of both purchased and donated food for $240.76!

Our EIN is 36-4289533. Please contact us at info@ottawafoodbasket.org if you have further questions.
